One of the themes of my character Blades the Mercenary and his wife Navit in the upcoming RP, Survival: Dark Times, part 3. They were from two different worlds and in spite of this managed to fall in love. They married and had one daughter, Nirmala, before Navit's life was taken in a house fire which turned out to be murder.
Blades set out across the galaxy aiming to kill the murderer in order to keep his daughter safe. He runs out of money and has to return to being a mercenary to make ends meet. This ends him up on his back, shot and bleeding to death, recalling all the events which led him to this place. Just as he is on the cusp of losing consciousness from blood loss, he says to himself "I'm here because of you, my love."
