Abba is a word that is Aramaic in origin. I do not know Aramaic, but after reading a passage of scripture from the New Testament in the Bible, this song came to me in a dream. Simply put, the word means "father". More complex meanings and connotations have been ascribed to this term, some of them formal, others informal, some religious, yet always meaningful.

And so this song can have many possible meanings as well.

It can be meant as a comfort to or from my own mortal father

It can be meant as comfort to or from my Heavenly Father.

It can mean whatever the rest of you who listen wish it to mean.
